Theodora Lee is a trial attorney who caught the wine bug soon after moving to the Bay Area from Texas in 1987. She took viticulture classes at UC Davis, made many vintages of home wine and bought a plot of sheep pasture in the rugged Yorkville Highlands in 2001. Years of expensive groundwork later, she made her first vintage produced from her own grapes in 2006. Symphony is a grape created at UC Davis in the forties and is a cross of Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris. The exuberant fruit and exotic flowers of Muscat is present along but with a touch of cleansing bitterness from the Grenache Gris and a spine of fresh citrus imparted by the high altitude and winds of this vineyard.
