The Douro River Valley is famous for its Port wines, but is gaining more and more recognition for its dry table wines. The Portuguese make regional wines that are usually blends of many different indigenous grapes, and this is no exception: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Sousão and Touriga Franca all make their way into the mix. Hand-picked, organically and sustainably grown grapes are foot stomped and fermented with ambient yeast in cement lagares, and then aged in concrete tanks for a fresh expression from this family-owned winery.
