So many Kompas Clubbers bought extra of our last Txakolina (Chok-o-leena) that when we came across this super value version we had to give the region another run. A family-owned 14th century estate, Inazio Urruzola, is located in the heart of Basque Country on the foothills of Mt. Hernio. The wines are estate-grown and deliver the classic Txakolina profile: pale yellow color wine with hints of green, nose of intense citrus, blossoms and ripe tropical fruit. On the tongue it’s slightly effervescent and acidic, with a wet-rock minerality and low alcohol. Enjoy on the porch with your favorite seafood dishes while substituting “Txakolina” for “Mona Lisa” in the Nat King Cole song.
