Domaine Labbé's Abymes hails from the picturesque Savoie region, nestled in the French Alps, a mere 15km south of Chambéry, renowned for its Vermouth and cheese. This family-run estate, established in 1975 by two brothers who initially balanced subsistence farming with weekend viticulture, transitioned to full-time winemaking in 2004 under the stewardship of their children, cousins Alexandra and Jérome. Spanning 10 hectares, the vineyard is dedicated to the indigenous Jacquère grape, thriving in the unique terroir of Abymes, a cru named for the avalanche-strewn, sierra-colored stones that characterize the landscape. The Savoie region, with its proximity to the Rhône River and Swiss border, boasts a cool climate that imparts exceptional freshness to its wines. Domaine Labbé embraces sustainable farming practices, fostering biodiversity and soil health. Vinification prioritizes varietal typicity, employing indigenous yeasts and temperature-controlled, non-reactive tanks/foudres to preserve Jacquère's intrinsic crispness. This Alpine white offers a vibrant bouquet of wet stone, lemon, and pear and the refreshing acidity and mineral-driven profile make it an ideal pairing with hard cheeses, white fish dishes and even fondue!
