Established in 1990 through the union of two winemaking families in Hainfeld, Pfalz, Borell-Diehl is now helmed by the next generation, George Diehl, who brings international experience to this 35-hectare estate. Situated within a 5km radius of their historic 1619 timbered home, their vineyards benefit from a complex geology of loess, limestone, and red sandstone, with minerally muschelkalk deposits. Committed to quality and value, Borell-Diehl practices rigorous crop thinning, hand-harvesting, and sustainable farming, eschewing systemic pesticides, herbicides, and irrigation. Their wines have been certified vegan since 2018. This offers a fun and splashy liter(!) of light, dry refreshment. Tasting it reveals a delightful combination of bright citrus fruit and restrained acidity, delivering a very clear and focused character. Perfectly paired with picnics, beach outings, patio gatherings, appetizers, lunches, brunches, and happy hour. Hell, the 1L makes it a candidate for your try at a white sangria.
