You might recall from a previous Kompas Club, that winemaker and owner of Enkidu, Phillip Staehle, crafts standout wines from Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah and Rhône varietals by sourcing from smaller vineyards throughout Sonoma, Lake County and the Sierra Foothills. This Southern Rhône Valley-style blend of 43% Grenache, 38% Syrah and 19% Mourvèdre was Aromas of lavender, dusty earth and dried black cherry and blackberry. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in 100% neutral French oak for 10 months, this is bright, super aromatic and inviting with a sturdy backbone to allow you to enjoy now or let it lay for a bit. Pairs wonderfully with BBQ’d meats and umami cheeses.
