Founded in 2004 by Uzi and Kathryn Cohen to revive a family winemaking tradition begun in Israel, Stomping Girl takes its name from Uzi’s grandmother’s nickname.  After a 4-5 day cold soak prior to fermentation, the wine is punched down 3 times per day during. In the traditional Burgundian method, the wine is aged sur-lie, with regular stirring and malolactic conversion completed in the barrels during aging. The wine is aged for approximately 11 months in mostly used French oak barrels. The wine clarifies naturally, without fining or filtration with a careful racking prior to bottling. This is a juicy, big Pinot suitable for a feast.
