This is our other fifth anniversary call back, originally emanating from the December 2020 case. Getränk is the noun for “drink” in German. Grüner Veltliner being the indigenous grape of Austria and being massively popular it might be assumed that one asking for a drink in Vienna is really asking for a Grüner Veltliner. This is the traditional format of a daily-drinker type Grüner in Austria, a liter bottle with a crown cap that is very affordable. This wine comes from certified sustainable vineyards in the Weinviertel region, but is labeled as landwein to preserve the option of bringing in grapes from other regions. This is a crazy level of quality and finesse at this price--and in a 1L bottle. Wow. An unfussy accompaniment to schnitzel or a warm evening on the patio.
