Tintero sounds like a Spanish name, but is actually French. In 1900 Pierre Tintero traveled to Piedmont looking for work and found it at the wine estate of widow. You can guess the rest and now the fourth generation of Tinteros are running this sustainably farmed estate. We have had a Langhe Nebbiolo in Kompas Club before, and it gets another placement this time because the wines are just that good. As a refresher, Langhe is a region that encompasses both Barolo and Barbaresco, with Nebbiolo being the grape of those famous and expensive wines. Instead of needing ten years for the Barolo or Barbaresco to be ready for drinking, however, Langhe Nebbiolos are made in an earlier drinking style, and are ready upon release. This is the kind of wine you want to order by the case and make it your house wine. Very floral, with notes of sweet tar and sour cherry and firm but friendly tannins  What doesn’t it go with? Scallops.
