While not native to the region like the below Schiava is thought to be, this pink\/blue-skinned mutation of Pinot Noir has been grown here since the 18th century and there is no place in the world with more renowned Pinot Grigio\/Pinot Gris. The Rottensteiner family take their name from the red-tinged rocks in the area of Bolzano where the third and fourth generation produce the family’s wines. As is the norm here, this Pinot Grigio is fermented and aged briefly in stainless steel.
